How could you support my surgery?

We are able to connect available GPs in the Cardiff area to surgeries anywhere in Wales, providing telephone consultations to the patients.  We are also able to provide admin sessions where our GPs will action pathology results or hospital letters for example.

What if the patient’s need to see someone face to face?

If any of the patients need to see a clinician, our GPs will specify who (e.g. GP/Nurse Practitioner/Physiotherapist) and when (e.g. today/tomorrow/next week).

Will your GPs have access to notes?

Yes, our GPs have remote access to the surgeries’ systems and can see patient’s histories, hospital letters etc., as they would if they were physically in the surgery.

Will you be answering our phones?

No, the surgery receptionists will still do that but will instead direct a proportion of the patients on to a list for our GP to deal with, providing them with a phone number and the reason for their call.

How will we know what to put on your patient list?

The receptionists will need to ask the patients why they want an appointment. We can provide a detailed list of what is best dealt with over the phone, including letters to contact the surgery, test results, discussing medications and even issues such as UTIs and anxiety. Issues such as unwell children or chest pains should not be put on the triage list.

How will the GPs communicate to us what needs to be done?

Next to our GP’s triage list, we will need an admin column. The GPs will copy patients in to this and leave booking notes such as “print script” or “make routine GP appointment”.

How would this system benefit us?

By dealing with a large portion of patients efficiently over the phone, we can reduce the demand for face-to-face appointments, ensuring they are available for patients who urgently need them.
